Country music is having a major moment — and two of its biggest stars are leading the charge.
Morgan Wallen and Ella Langley have emerged as top nominees at the American Music Awards 2026, proving just how strong the genre’s presence is right now.
Wallen leads all country artists with seven nominations, including the highly competitive Artist of the Year category — where he stands as the only country representative alongside global superstars like Taylor Swift, Bad Bunny, Lady Gaga, and Bruno Mars. His album I’m The Problem and the single “Just in Case” have both earned major recognition, keeping him at the forefront of the industry.
Right behind him, Langley continues her breakout run with five nominations. She’s up for Best Female Country Artist and New Artist of the Year, while her hit “Choosin’ Texas” dominates across multiple categories, including Song of the Year, Song of the Summer, and Best Country Song. It’s a defining moment that cements her transition from rising star to a major force in country music.
The nominations were announced on April 14, building anticipation for a night that promises to highlight the genre’s growing influence. The awards will air on Memorial Day, May 25, live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on CBS.
One thing is clear — country music didn’t just show up this year. It showed out.
