A Three-Guitar Masterclass at Love Rocks NYC 2025

At the ninth annual Love Rocks NYC benefit on March 6, 2025, at New York’s Beacon Theatre, generations of guitar mastery came together when Peter Frampton, Trey Anastasio, and rising star Grace Bowers delivered a breathtaking 10-minute version of While My Guitar Gently Weeps. Frampton, performing seated due to his battle with inclusion body myositis, had already charmed the crowd with Georgia On My Mind and Do You Feel Like We Do before introducing Bowers as “one of the up-and-coming phenomenal players” and Anastasio as “a gentleman I’ve always wanted to meet and play with.”

What followed was a masterclass in guitar interplay—Frampton’s soulful phrasing on his famed “Phenix” Les Paul, Bowers’ blistering solo on her Murphy Labs Gibson SG that left the crowd roaring, and Anastasio’s fiery runs on his Languedoc guitar, all building to a thunderous three-way jam.

It was more than a performance—it was a moment of intergenerational magic, a passing of the torch, and proof that the power of music can unite legends and newcomers on the same stage.
