BtoB, Cube Entertainment launched the South Korean boy band BEE-too-bee which is an abbreviation for Born to Beat) in 2012. Seo Eun-kwang, Lee Min-hyuk, Lee Chang-sub, Im Hyun-sik, Peniel Shin, and Yook Sung-jae make up the group. Jung Il-hoon left the group, which was originally made up of seven members, in December 2020. BtoB made its debut on March 21 at a showcase in Seoul, which was live-streamed on its official YouTube account. They sang “Insane” ( RR: Bimil; lit. Secret), “Imagine,” and other songs. Born to Beat was later followed by their self-titled first EP.
Since their debut in 2012, the group has won several honors, including the 30th Golden Disc Awards Best Vocal Group in 2016, the 2017 Melon Music Awards Top 10 Bonsang, and the 25th Seoul Music Awards Ballad Award in 2018. Five of their albums charted at the top of the Gaon Album Chart, while nine of their singles charted in the top 10 of the Gaon Digital Chart.

Yook was born in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, on May 2, 1995. He has a single older sister. Yook is from a wealthy household. His father is the CEO of a semiconductor-related IT business. His grandpa was the first person to bring red carp to South Korea, and his grandmother maintained a fishing farm in Paju. He spent a month studying in England and the Philippines, respectively. He graduated from Hanlim Multi Art School in 2014, where he finished his high school studies. He subsequently went on to Dongshin University, where he majored in Practical Music.
On August 10, 2010, he took part in the “2010 Cube Stars Party” stage performance. Yook also performed on stage at the “2011 CUBE Stars Party” on March 6, 2011, alongside bandmate Seo Eunkwang, Im Hyun-Sik, Jung Il-hoon, and rumored member Lee Min-woo.
Yook competed in the JYP 6th Audition Final Round before signing with Cube Entertainment. On March 21, 2012, Yook made his debut as a BtoB vocalist with “Insane” and “Imagine.” Yook co-hosted SBS MTV’s music show The Show with bandmate Lee Min-hyuk on March 23, 2012. Yook Sungjae made his acting debut in the 2013 drama Monstar (TV series) as a member of the supporting cast with his bandmates Lee Min-hyuk, Lee Chang-sub, and Im Hyun-Sik. Yook made his breakthrough in the adolescent drama Who Are You: School 2015, co-starring Kim So-Hyun and Nam Joo-hyuk. Yook conducted his first fan gathering, Paradise, at the TICC in Taiwan on February 11, the Macpherson Stadium in Hong Kong on May 19, and the Manila, the Philippines on July 13. Yook was appointed as BtoB’s new leader in 2019, on the occasion of their seventh anniversary.
Yook declared on Instagram on May 3, 2020, that he will be joining in required military duty on May 11, which Cube verified. Yook will join the Ministry of National Defense military band after finishing his five-week basic military training school at Nonsan Training Center, according to MyDaily.Yook announced on October 1, 2021, that he had not returned from military service. Yook, who is slated to be freed on November 14, 2021, will not return to his unit to avoid the spread of COVID-19, according to ministry norms.

Lee Changsub was born in the South Korean city of Suwon, Gyeonggi-do. He studied Practical Music at Howon University alongside fellow BTOB member Lim Hyunsik. They were both accepted in 2011 with a razor-thin 3000:5 ratio. Before his debut as an idol, he won a Daesang at the 16th Suwon Music Festival in 2008 and was even appointed vice president of Red Cross Youth Gyeonggi Province in 2009.
Lee made his BTOB debut as the main vocalist on March 21, 2012. Lee has also contributed to the lyrics of several BTOB songs, including “Last Day,” “Killing Me,” and “Melody.”In 2017, he began his career in musicals. He played Goo Jun-Pyo in the musical adaption of “Boys Over Flowers.” He also appeared as Napoleon’s younger brother, Lucien, in the Korean version of the musical “Napoleon.” Following that, he was cast as the title role in the musical “Edgar Allan Poe.
He was the first member to release his own solo album, “bpm 82.5,” in Japan. With the title track “At The End,” this Japan premiere in 2017 also marked the start of the ‘Piece of BTOB’ project in which one BTOB member will present a solo release each month. On January 14, 2019, he enlisted as an active duty soldier and began his military service. He recorded a special single a new ROK Army theme song—with Shinee’s Onew and Key, Exo’s Xiumin, Infinite’s Kim Sung-kyu, 2AM’s Jo Kwon, and Jinwoon, Yoon Ji-sung, and actors Kim Minseok and Lee Jae-kyoon on July 24. On August 21, he was formally released in accordance with the COVID-19 process.
He visited his alma mater, Samil Commercial High School, and presented a scholarship of ten million won. Changsub stated: “This was not anything I could have envisioned when I was in school. It’s an honor to be in a position where I can provide this scholarship to the next generation of students. I’ve gotten this far because of my professors and my school, who assisted me all the way through while I was a student” On October 21, 2017.

Im Hyun-sik was born in Seoul, South Korea, on March 7, 1992. His father is a folk singer from South Korea. He attended Howon University, where he studied Practical Music alongside groupmate Lee Chang-sub. Hyunsik spent two years studying overseas at Shanghai Yan’an High School in Shanghai.
Hyunsik has five tattoos. On his neck is a stars/moon design, on his arm is a triangle (friendship tattoo), on his arm is an “M” for Melody, on his arm is a peeled banana, and on his arm is a fish which is his sign, Pisces design with the numbers 3 and 7 which is his birth date. On March 21, 2012, Hyunsik made his debut as the lead vocalist of Cube Entertainment’s boy group BtoB with the promotional track “Insane.” Since their debut, the band has released two studio albums and eleven extended plays. Hyunsik has also contributed to the creation of various BtoB songs, including “Star,” “Killing Me,” “I’ll Be Your Man (Pray),” “Missing You,” “Only One for Me,” and “Beautiful Pain.”
Hyunsik joined BtoB’s first unit group, BtoB Blue, which consists of the group’s vocalists, in September 2016. On September 19, 2016, BtoB Blue released the digital single “Stand By Me.” Hyunsik revealed on Instagram on May 6, 2020, that he would begin required military duty on May 11, 2020, as a member of the military band.

Seo was born in Yongin, Gyeonggi, South Korea on November 22, 1990. He received his bachelor’s degree in practical music from Dongshin University. Seo Eun-Chong, his younger brother, is his only sibling.
On March 21, 2012, Seo made his debut as the leader and primary vocalist of Cube Entertainment’s boy group BtoB with the promotional track “Insane.” The band is currently active, having released 10 mini albums and two studio albums. Eunkwang also wrote the song “Melody,” which is dedicated to their fans, for their fourth mini-album, Beep Beep.
BTOB promotions proceeded in his absence throughout his service, with Minhyuk being the second leader and Sungjae as the third leader until his discharge. In 2012, he collaborated with artist Yoo Sung-Eun on the digital song “Love Virus.” A song video starring 4Minute’s Nam Jihyun and vocalist Roh Ji-hoon has been released to BtoB’s official YouTube page.
Seo was engaged in the Korean musical theater scene from 2017 to 2018. He appeared in several films, including Hamlet, Goddess is Watching You, Three Musketeers, and Barnum: The Great Showman. Despite rehearsal, he was only able to perform six of the concerts for Barnum: The Great Showman due to the unexpected news of his conscription. Seo’s nomination to Cube Entertainment’s board of directors was announced in the company’s 2020 half-term report on August 13, 2020. As a result, Seo became Cube Entertainment’s first artist to be promoted to the position of director.

Lee Minhyuk was born in Seoul, South Korea, on November 29, 1990. He attended Dankook University and majored in Musical after graduating from Kwangsung High School. Prior to making his BtoB debut, he was a well-known underground music musician under the alias ‘Huta.’ In 2008-2009, they collaborated with Block B’s Zico (then Nacseo) and Park Kyung (then Holke) to release the mixtape single “Nar.BINO.”
Lee Min-hyuk was trained for 7 months, but as a music student, he already possessed good fundamental talents. Lee, along with BtoB members Seo Eunkwang, Lim Hyunsik, Jung Ilhoon, and a former Cube BtoB trainee Lee Minwoo (now ex C-Clown member T.K), appeared in the JTBC show I Live in Cheongdam-dong as a member of the fictional boy group ‘Invincible Chungdam No. 5’ before making their official debut as BtoB. Lee made his debut in 2012 as a member of the boy band BtoB. On March 21, 2012, the group made its formal debut on M! Countdown.
Lee is also well-known for his athletic ability, having been named MVP of the 2014 Idol Star Athletics Championships, in which his group, Team B, won and Lee earned three gold medals and one silver medal. On February 7, 2019, Lee enrolled as a conscripted police officer. On September 12, 2020, he was released.

Shin was born on March 10, 1993, in Chicago, Illinois, USA. Shin went to Barbara B. Rose Elementary School before transferring to Barrington Middle School Prairie Campus, which is located in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. After relocating to Seoul to train, he attended Chungdam High School. He was a JYP Entertainment trainee before joining Cube Entertainment, and he also participated in San E’s “Tasty San” music video in 2010. In March 2012, he made his debut as the main rapper of Cube Entertainment’s idol group BTOB. In 2013, he took over as the primary host of Arirang’s music show Pops in Seoul.
Shin began updating his followers with his official vlog channel, POV, in 2016. Shin’s daily activities are featured on the channel.  On May 1, 2016, he released Homesick, his debut English mixtape with KAIROS. Shin’s debut photography show, titled “Penography,” took place in 2017 at the White Studio gallery in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. From March 30 to April 12, the show was open to the public. Cube announced the formation of a unit dubbed BtoB 4U on October 27, 2020, consisting of Peniel, Eunkwang, Minhyuk, and Changsub.
