BTS Made New Record in Japan’s Oricon Chart

BTS added another new record.

According to the latest chart (as of January 3) announced by Oricon of Japan on the 29th, BTS ranked 16th (3951,000 times) with ‘Dynamite’ in the ‘Weekly Streaming Ranking’.

The cumulative number of playbacks has exceeded 500 million. This is the second time since the ‘Weekly Streaming Ranking’ was established in 2018. This is a first for a male artist.

Not only this, BTS first entered the charts on August 31 of last year. Since entering the chart, it has been ranked in the Top 20 for 71 weeks in a row until the latest chart.

‘Dynamite’ is a light dance song of the disco-pop genre. Although it has been over a year since it was released in August, it is still gaining popularity around the world.

This is BTS’ first English song. With ‘Dynamite’, BTS set a new record by occupying the top spot for three weeks on Billboard’s main single part ‘Hot 100’.

Meanwhile, BTS is currently resting after an offline concert in Los Angeles last month. After that, they will prepare for a concert in Seoul in March 2022.

Suga, RM, and Jin are currently infected with the coronavirus. All of them were confirmed positive in PCR tests conducted before the release of quarantine.
