D.P is a South Korean Netflix Original series that is based on the Lezhin webtoon D.P Dog’s Day by Kim Bo Tong, directed by Han Jun-hee, from a screenplay by Kim Bo-tong and Han. The acronym for D.P is Deserter Pursuit and the series revolves around the Deserter Pursuit unit. The unit’s main task is to catch the people who abandon their military duties.
The series premiered in six parts on Netflix on 27th August 2021. It is a military-themed drama that focuses on Korea’s Law that states all male citizens between the age of 18-29 must enlist in the army. It is a heart-touching drama for the people who have been a part of the defense force. The drama shows the undesirable nature of the military and although the story includes a pitch of diaphanous comical elements, it does not shy away from the uncomfortable conversation around shame and guilt associated with desertion.
With the intriguing perspective brought by the show to the center stage, it’s only natural to be eager to know if there will be a second season. Here is everything we know about the second season.
