Dean was born and raised in  Hongeun-dong, Seoul. He goes by other names such as Deanfluenza, Deantrbl. But, his main stage name originates from the actor, james dean. His passion for music began very early in his life, he considered music to be his escape. Dean became interested in American rap and hip hop in middle school. he was also very talented in writing since he wrote his own songs and rap. When his parents found out about his love for music, they happily supported it.

Dean started his career very early, he began his career at the age of 16 by performing with artists like Keith Ape. since he was also a writer he used to write raps tracks for other kpop stars as well. He did it under the name of “Deanfluenza”. At 20 he was under the tutelage of Joombas Music Group CEO and producer Hyuk Shin.

he debuted in the UNited states in July 2015 with the single called I’m not sorry, featuring Grammy winner Eric Bellinger. In the same year, he also made his Korean debut with the single pour-up featuring rapper Zico. Dean has worked with many famous artists such as Zico, Suran, loco, crush, Jeff Bernt, Taeyong, etc.

Dean is also known for his great sense of style which is inspired by new york runways and streets. Other than being an amazing songwriter, producer, and artist, there are other things he likes than just music such as he loves sushi, pizza, and chocolate.  Heis favorite color is green. As for his physical appearance, Dean says his lips are his main attraction.
