Dolly on the Road: Parton Reveals Plans for ‘Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stop’ in Middle Tennessee

Global superstar Dolly Parton is expanding her iconic brand to the open road, announcing plans to launch her first-ever travel center in the small Middle Tennessee town of Cornersville, located about an hour south of Nashville along Interstate 65.

The new project, called “Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stop,” will transform and fully rebrand the existing Tennessean Travel Stop. Designed as a flagship location, the center aims to elevate the roadside experience and bring a fresh vision of Southern hospitality to travelers journeying between Nashville and Huntsville, Alabama.

A Boost for the Local Economy

The announcement has sparked excitement throughout the community, with residents and local leaders expecting a significant economic impact. District 92 State Representative Todd Warner emphasized Parton’s powerful influence on tourism and local business.

“When you think of Tennessee, you think Dolly Parton,” Warner said, noting that the travel center’s location at Exit 22 makes it an ideal stopping point between two major cities. Many believe Parton’s involvement alone will attract visitors who might otherwise pass through.

Local patrons also welcomed the news, praising Parton’s longstanding reputation for philanthropy and community support. Residents predict the new venture could increase tourism, bring new business opportunities, and place Cornersville firmly on the travel map.

Redefining the Roadside Experience

In a press statement, Parton shared that roadside stops played an important role throughout her touring career, inspiring her to create a destination that reflects “the heart and soul” of Tennessee.

The project promises to “redefine Southern hospitality on the highway,” combining modern amenities with curated dining options and regional retail offerings while preserving the welcoming comfort travelers already associate with the Tennessean brand.

Although the Cornersville site will serve as the flagship location, additional centers under the “Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stops” name are expected to be announced next year, with the first reimagined location scheduled to open in early summer 2026.
