Ella Langley has reached another major milestone in her career, becoming just the third female artist in history to hold the top two spots on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart at the same time.
Her breakout hit Choosin’ Texas has been dominating the charts for months. The song first made a strong debut on the Billboard Hot 100 and quickly climbed the country charts, eventually earning Langley her first No. 1 hit on the Hot Country Songs chart. The track’s massive popularity online and strong fan support helped it continue rising until it finally reached No. 1 on the all-genre Hot 100, a rare achievement for a country song.
The success didn’t stop there. “Choosin’ Texas” also helped Langley make history as the first female artist to simultaneously top the Hot Country Songs, Country Airplay, and Hot 100 charts.
Now she has added another record to her growing list of achievements. While “Choosin’ Texas” continues to hold the No. 1 position on Hot Country Songs, her other hit Be Her has climbed to No. 2, giving Langley the top two spots on the chart.
With this accomplishment, Langley joins an elite group of artists. Before her, only Taylor Swift and Beyoncé had achieved the same feat among female artists.
Even when including male artists, the list is still incredibly short. Legends such as Buck Owens, Willie Nelson, Luke Bryan, Morgan Wallen, Florida Georgia Line, and Dan + Shay are among the few artists who have ever held the top two spots simultaneously.
For Langley, this moment marks another historic step in what is quickly becoming one of the most exciting rises in modern country music.
