Eric Church may never receive another gift quite like the one Ella Langley gave him.
In February, Langley joined Church as a special guest on his Free the Machine Tour. Opening several shows for a major country star is a huge opportunity, and when her time on the tour came to an end, she wanted to thank him with something meaningful.
During an interview on Country Countdown USA, the “Choosin’ Texas” singer revealed she found a unique gift while browsing an antique store. She purchased a vintage pocket watch from the 1920s that came with a gold chain attached to a small pocket knife.
What made the gift even more special was a surprising detail—when Langley looked at the back of the watch, she noticed the letter “E” was already engraved on it, making it feel like the perfect gift for Eric.
A Big Year Ahead for Ella Langley
While reflecting on their time touring together, Langley also shared some advice Church once gave her when things start to feel overwhelming in the music industry.
He told her that whenever things get strange or stressful, she should always bring the focus back to the music. Church explained that every artist has their own path, saying there will only ever be one “Chief”—his nickname—and that the key is to keep moving forward.
Langley is certainly doing just that. She’s preparing to release her second studio album, Dandelion, on April 10 and will launch a nationwide tour starting in May.
The album will also feature a special collaboration with Keith Urban, marking the first time the two artists have worked together. Langley shared that Urban personally reached out to her about recording a duet, something she immediately agreed to.
She even revealed that part of the album was finished at Urban’s studio, where he casually stopped by one day, sat on the couch, and listened to the music as it came together—an experience Langley described as incredibly cool.
