Is Alabama Country Star Ella Langley “Blocking Herself” From Another No. 1 Hit?

Ella Langley is enjoying such a strong run on the charts that she may actually be competing with herself for the top spot. The Alabama native’s breakout album Hungover propelled her into the spotlight in 2024, especially with the hit duet You Look Like You Love Me alongside fellow Alabama star Riley Green. The success carried through 2025, earning Langley major recognition at both the Academy of Country Music Awards and the Country Music Association Awards.

Now she’s preparing to release her next album, Dandelion, set to arrive on April 10, 2026. Early singles from the project are already dominating the charts. The lead single Choosin’ Texas recently reached No. 1 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the Hot Country Songs chart—an incredibly rare achievement for a solo female country artist. The milestone places Langley in the company of global stars such as Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, and Dolly Parton.

Adding to the momentum, two additional tracks—Be Her and the title track Dandelion—are also climbing the charts. With multiple songs gaining traction at the same time, some outlets have joked that Langley is “blocking herself” from another No. 1. On the latest Hot 100 chart dated March 14, “Choosin’ Texas” sits at No. 2 while “Be Her” has climbed to No. 16 and “Dandelion” to No. 49.

The competition is even tighter on the country charts. On the Hot Country Songs ranking, “Choosin’ Texas” holds the No. 1 spot while “Be Her” sits right behind it at No. 2—meaning Langley’s own songs are competing for the top position. According to Billboard, she is only the third woman to simultaneously hold the top two spots on the chart, following Beyoncé and Taylor Swift.

Streaming and sales numbers further highlight her dominance. “Choosin’ Texas” leads the Country Streaming Songs chart while “Be Her” and the earlier track Weren’t For The Wind also rank near the top. During one recent tracking week, the song reportedly generated nearly 22 million U.S. streams, reached more than 44 million radio listeners, and sold about 6,000 copies.

Beyond music, Langley has hinted at future ambitions outside the recording studio. In a recent radio interview, she shared that she would love to try acting one day—particularly in thriller or horror films. The singer joked that starring in a classic-style horror movie is one of her biggest goals.

With chart-topping hits, a highly anticipated new album, and growing recognition beyond music—including a brand partnership with American Eagle—Ella Langley’s momentum shows no sign of slowing down. And if she really is blocking herself from another No. 1 hit, it’s clearly the kind of problem most artists would love to have. 🎶
