Singer-songwriter Choi Yuna, better known as Yuju, hails from South Korea. She is well known as a former member of the girl group, GFriend.

Ilsan, South Korea is where Yuju was born in. Her family consists of her parents and an older sister. Like most idols that we know of, she also attended the Seoul School of Performing Arts.

On K-pop Star 1’s debut season in 2011, she was eliminated in the first round. She debuted with the song “Glass Bead” in January 2015 as a GFriend member. Following the release of “Me Gustas Tu”, a second single was released.

While performing on a slick stage for the song’s promotion, GFriend members fell eight times, garnering worldwide attention. Especially Yuju, who had his finger twisted during the performance, was lauded for his professionalism.

Loco and Yuju collaborated on the song “Spring Is Gone by Chance” for the South Korean television drama The Girl Who Sees Smells. On Music Bank, the song earned ten weeks in a row for “OST Chart First Place” as well as “Best OST” at the 2015 Melon Music Awards.

In addition, the song was released in an acoustic form. This is one of the few OSTs to have both a Streaming Certification and a Download Certification on Gaon.

‘Billy & The Brave Guys’ is a song Yuju recorded for Chicken Hero, a 2016 animated film. [10] For “Cherish”, she teamed with Sunyoul from UP10TION in March 2016. They worked together on a song called “Heart Signal” in October 2017. “SBS’ Fantastic Duo” (season 2, episode 27-28) also included her, and she and Wheesung performed their winning composition “The Heartbreaking Story”.

She is the first and only Kpop Female Idol to win on the said television show, battling against 5 Contentants who selected 8 possible nominees via the Everysing app before the broadcast.
