While appearing on Theo Von’s This Past Weekend podcast, Ella opened up about what it was really like performing “What I Want” with Morgan during the I’m the Problem Tour. And according to her, it wasn’t as effortless as it looked from the crowd.
She admitted she messed up the lyrics “almost every single time,” especially performing in front of massive stadium crowds—sometimes with nearly 80,000 people watching. She even joked that the nerves were so intense she felt like she could “throw up” before walking on stage.
Morgan, of course, didn’t let her live it down. In true teasing fashion, he would tell her, “You can’t come out here and mess this up again.” Her response? A very honest, “I might.”
But the story doesn’t end there.
On their final performance of the song together, the roles completely flipped. Morgan walked out on stage… and forgot the lyrics himself. Instead of panic, it turned into laughter. Ella said she couldn’t even finish singing properly because she was laughing so hard at the moment.
