Riley Green Officially Joins ‘The Voice’ As New Season 30 Coach Alongside Kelly Clarkson

Riley Green is officially stepping into one of the biggest roles of his career after being announced as a new coach on Season 30 of NBC’s hit singing competition series The Voice.

The country star will join returning coaches Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine for the upcoming season, marking a major milestone as Green continues expanding far beyond country radio and sold-out tours. The announcement came after The Voice spent days teasing fans online with cryptic country-themed clues that immediately sparked speculation across social media.

The first teaser featured the show’s iconic red chair sitting in the middle of a countryside setting, complete with a barn, sunset, cowboy hat, and even a glass of sweet tea. The caption hinted that “something’s brewin’… and it sounds pretty country,” sending fans into detective mode trying to figure out which country artist was about to join the panel.

A second teaser only intensified the rumors, showing a camo-covered chair placed in a marsh-like setting with a duck flying overhead — details many fans quickly connected to Riley Green’s outdoorsman image and hunting lifestyle. Before long, viewers were already predicting the Alabama native would be revealed as the newest coach.

Now officially confirmed, Green joins a long history of country music stars who have helped shape The Voice. Blake Shelton famously became the face of the franchise during his 23-season run, while Reba McEntire earned praise from fans after joining as both mentor and coach. Dan + Shay later made history as the show’s first coaching duo, and Kelsea Ballerini also became a fan favorite during her appearances on the series.

For Green, the opportunity comes during an already massive year in his career. In addition to headlining his Cowboy As It Gets Tour, he is heading into the ACM Awards with several major nominations, including Male Artist of the Year, Album of the Year for Don’t Mind If I Do (Deluxe), and Music Event of the Year alongside Ella Langley for “Don’t Mind If I Do.”

This also is not Green’s first move into television. Earlier this year, he made his acting debut on CBS’ Marshals, playing Garrett, a former Navy SEAL struggling with his past — a performance that surprised many fans and showed another side of his talents beyond music.

With his laid-back personality, strong connection to traditional country music, and rapidly growing fanbase, many viewers already believe Green could become one of the show’s most popular coaches in years.

Season 30 of The Voice is expected to premiere this fall on NBC, although an official release date has not yet been announced.
