Ella Langley made history on May 8 at Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, delivering the largest headlining performance of her career on just the second night of her first-ever arena tour. The sold-out crowd made it clear from the moment she stepped onstage — this was a night no one would forget.
Taking the stage in a stunning custom Morphew Atelier gown crafted from vintage beaded silk velvet shawls, paired with Steve Madden KINZEE taupe suede stiletto boots, Langley launched straight into her title track “Dandelion,” igniting a massive singalong that set the tone for the entire evening.
“I literally drew this stage in my journal,” she told the roaring crowd. “And tonight we’re getting to play on it in front of the biggest sold-out headline show I’ve ever played in my whole career.”
The night unfolded as an 18-song journey through both of her albums — Hungover and Dandelion — with heavy focus on her sophomore record. Twelve of its eighteen tracks made the setlist, including fan favorites “I Gotta Quit,” “Choosin’ Texas,” “Broken,” “Be Her,” and “Loving Life Again.” Her Dandelion album, co-produced by Miranda Lambert and Ben West, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart when it dropped on April 10 via SAWGOD Records/Columbia.
Langley also wowed the crowd with powerhouse covers — Gretchen Wilson’s “Here For The Party,” Toby Keith’s “Wish I Didn’t Know Now,” and Kitty Wells’ “It Wasn’t God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels.” Dylan Marlowe stepped in for Riley Green on “You Look Like You Love Me,” while Gabriella Rose filled in for Miranda Lambert on “Butterfly Season.”
Midway through the show, Langley paused to take it all in — scanning the upper decks packed with fans in homemade and merch-table Ella Langley shirts, every single one of them singing every word.
“I know it might seem like I’m here like ‘duh,'” she laughed, “but no — I’m like ‘holy sh*t.’ It’s just crazy to me, and I don’t want to stop being wowed by it. The fact that I can write a song for myself, as a person, and have it connect to this many people in one room — that’s absolutely insane.”
With a stage presence that drew comparisons to Stevie Nicks and Linda Ronstadt — free-spirited, magnetic, impossible to look away from — Ella Langley proved on this night that she isn’t just rising through the ranks of country music. She’s already arrived.
The Dandelion Tour continues with support from Kameron Marlowe, Dylan Marlowe, Kaitlin Butts, Gabriella Rose, and Laci Kaye Booth on select dates
