Jelly Roll has achieved more in the music industry than he ever dreamed possible—but now, he’s questioning whether music is where he’s meant to remain.
During a backstage conversation at the Grand Ole Opry, the country star opened up about what could be next for him. In a video shared on social media Sept. 13, Jelly Roll explained that he feels he has accomplished the goals he once set for himself and is now turning to his faith for direction.
He reflected on everything he has received through music, including Grammys, ACMs, CMAs, a Billboard 200 No. 1 album, and his membership in the Grand Ole Opry.
Rather than immediately chasing another achievement, Jelly Roll says he wants to step away from the noise and listen for God’s guidance.
He even suggested that if he felt called to leave the music business and serve at a homeless shelter, he would do it without hesitation.
“I just gotta go do a little bit of work on myself to make sure that I’m all the way ready,” he shared, explaining that he is sober, in therapy, and spending more time reading his Bible.
Jelly Roll has already begun creating that distance. After wrapping up a headlining performance in Colorado Springs on July 30, he said it could be his final show for the next year or two as he takes time away from touring and focuses on what comes next.
For Jelly Roll, this chapter appears to be less about chasing another milestone—and more about figuring out where his faith is leading him.
