Dylan Marlowe has a milestone year ahead. The country singer-songwriter is preparing to welcome identical twin boys, due any day now. At the same time, he’s gearing up for one of the biggest tours of his career, joining Ella Langley as support on her first-ever headlining run, The Dandelion Tour.
Marlowe and Langley share deep roots in Nashville. They arrived in town around the same time, both chasing country music dreams. Speaking backstage at the Grand Ole Opry during Conservation Aid, Marlowe reflected on those early days alongside songwriter Joybeth Taylor and singer Trey Lewis.
“I guess we got to town pretty close to the same time, and me, her, and Joybeth Taylor used to write once a week for a long time,” Marlowe recalled. “That was before me and Ella started touring heavily.”
The group penned several songs together, including “I’ll Keep the Country.” Back then, Langley was living with Lewis in Hermitage, Tennessee — a house that became a creative hub for late-night bonfires and writing sessions. “We wrote a bunch of songs over there,” Marlowe said. “We go pretty far back.”
Fast forward to today, and Langley’s rise has been nothing short of explosive. With her smash hit “Choosin’ Texas,” she made history as the first woman to simultaneously top the Hot 100, Hot Country Songs, and Country Airplay charts. The milestone followed her breakthrough duet “You Look Like You Love Me” with Riley Green, which earned multiple awards and widespread acclaim. She also took home New Female Artist of the Year at the 2024 ACM Awards — and now, she’s preparing to release her new album while embarking on a nearly sold-out tour.
Watching his friend’s meteoric ascent has been a proud moment for Marlowe. “I’m so happy for her,” he said with a smile. “Her career has just flown, and I get to reap the benefits by going out on tour and opening for her. It’s pretty cool to see your buddies winning.”
He reflected on how they once stood on equal footing, climbing together — until her career skyrocketed. “When you see your buddies really winning, it’s just really cool,” he added.
Marlowe even hinted that fans might see them share the stage again for “You Look Like You Love Me,” just as they did at CMA Fest’s Riverfront stage last year.

The Dandelion Tour kicks off at the Huntington Center in Toledo, Ohio, and wraps August 15 at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. Joining Langley and Marlowe on select dates are Kameron Marlowe, Kaitlin Butts, Gabriella Rose, and Laci Kaye Booth.
The tour supports Langley’s upcoming album, Dandelion, arriving April 10 via SAWGOD Records/Columbia. Co-produced by Miranda Lambert and Ben West, the 18-track project includes the title cut and “Choosin’ Texas.” It follows her debut album, hungover, and is being described as her most personal work yet.

With new music, a historic chart run, and a full-circle friendship now playing out on arena stages, both Langley and Marlowe are stepping into defining chapters of their careers — together.
