Dolly Parton Defends Kid Rock, Warns About ‘Mark Of The Beast’

Country music legend Dolly Parton has never shied away from a little friendly collaboration – but when her duet with Kid Rock on her “Rockstar” album drew fire, some folks forgot a key ingredient in the Dolly Parton recipe: unconditional love.

“I did a song with Kid Rock…before the controversy that he had,” Dolly shared in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. With her classic wit, she added, “Just because I love you don’t mean I don’t love Kid Rock. Just because I love Kid Rock don’t mean I don’t love you.”

The “controversy” critics latched onto stemmed from a video Kid Rock posted, interpreted as a protest against a transgender social media personality associated with Bud Light. While some called for Dolly to cut ties with the rocker, she stood her ground.

“Cancel culture? I think that’s terrible,” Dolly declared. “We all make mistakes… If God can forgive you, so can I.” And with a little Dolly twinkle, she added, “Now, I happen to believe in God… so, therefore, I am able to see it like that.”

When asked about her thoughts on transgender people, Dolly doubled down on her belief in acceptance. “I just want everybody to be treated good,” she asserted. “I have some of everybody in my own immediate family… I know and love them all, and I do not judge.”

The conversation took a surprising turn with the mention of artificial intelligence replacing deceased entertainers. Dolly’s response was immediate and heartfelt: “No. I ain’t going to consider AI on nothing that’s human being… That scares me to death. It’s like the mark of the beast.”

Dolly Parton’s words echo her enduring authenticity – a belief in the goodness of people, forgiveness instead of judgment, and a faith that guides her own life. After all, who could argue with a little love and inclusion, the Dolly way?

  1. I can’t say I’ve ever disagreed with Kid Rock. He’s just being honest.Leave him alone. He can think for himself.

  2. Thank you Dolly! We all need a reminder that people who disagree with us are not the enemy. Forgiveness is key and understanding that we all come from different places is OKAY. BUT the love of Christ is key. Keep rocking on Mrs. Dolly! ❤️
