A few days ago, she shared a TikTok video covering Rick Astley’s 1987 hit “Never Gonna Give You Up.” For anyone familiar with internet culture, the song is famously tied to the “Rickrolling” meme, where Astley’s original video pops up unexpectedly.
Ella explained that the song had been “stuck in my head all day,” so she picked up her acoustic guitar and tried her hand at it—and absolutely nailed it. She infused the track with her own country style while still paying homage to the original.
