During a June performance in Pittsburgh, the country superstar gave fans a memorable shout-out when he named two of his heroes: his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and the Philadelphia Eagles. During a performance at Clemson, Wallen appeared onstage wearing a black leg cast with “Joshua 2:21” written in white. He didn’t make a major announcement about the Bible reference or turn it into a social-media moment. Instead, fans noticed the verse themselves.
The reference comes from the biblical account involving Rahab and the Israelites. Joshua 2:21 describes Rahab agreeing to follow the instructions she had been given and then sending the Israelite messengers away.
For fans familiar with Wallen’s faith, seeing a Bible reference written on his cast became another quiet indication of what he carries with him beyond the music and massive stadium crowds.
His connection to faith has also been reflected in the way he has responded to hardship in his home region.
Wallen grew up in East Tennessee, an area deeply affected by Hurricane Helene. After the devastating storm struck the region, he stepped forward to help people impacted by the disaster.
