The Oak Ridge Boys Forced To Postpone Concert

Fans of the legendary country and gospel group The Oak Ridge Boys will have to wait a little longer to see them perform in Ludington, Michigan.

The group announced that their scheduled June 6 concert at Stix has been postponed due to what they described as “unforeseen circumstances.” The news was shared through the band’s social media channels, where they also confirmed that the show has already been rescheduled.

According to the announcement, The Oak Ridge Boys will now return to Ludington on September 18, and all tickets purchased for the original date will remain valid for the new performance.

The statement read:

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, The Oak Ridge Boys will not be playing at Stix this weekend on June 6. We will be back to play in Ludington on September 18. All tickets previously purchased will still be valid for the new date.”

While no additional details regarding the postponement were provided, fans quickly expressed their support and understanding, wishing the group well and looking forward to the rescheduled show later this year.

A Farewell Tour That Keeps Going

The postponement comes during the band’s extended American Made Farewell Tour, which began in 2023. Named after one of their signature hits, the tour was originally intended as a farewell run but has continued through 2024, 2025, and now 2026 due to overwhelming fan demand and the group’s continued love of performing.

Throughout the tour, The Oak Ridge Boys have celebrated decades of music while connecting with longtime fans across the country. However, the journey has also been marked by significant challenges and emotional moments.

In early 2023, longtime member Joe Bonsall retired from touring due to health concerns. Country music fans were saddened when Bonsall passed away on July 9, 2024, at the age of 76. Despite the loss of their beloved bandmate, the remaining members chose to continue performing in his honor, believing he would have wanted the music to carry on.

The group faced another challenge in 2025 when member Richard Sterban revealed that he had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Sterban temporarily stepped away from several performances while undergoing treatment and medical procedures. In a moment celebrated by fans throughout the country music community, he returned to the stage alongside his bandmates at the Grand Ole Opry in February 2026.

Despite the setbacks, The Oak Ridge Boys continue to demonstrate the resilience and dedication that have defined their remarkable career. Fans attending the postponed Ludington show can now look forward to seeing the iconic group on September 18 as their historic farewell tour continues.
