Ella Langley caught everyone’s attention when her 2024 single “You Look Like You Love Me” took off in a way few expected.
Released as part of her debut album Hungover, the duet with Riley Green quickly turned into a massive success. It sold over three million units, earned 3x Platinum certification, and went on to win major awards at both the CMA and ACM Awards.
But behind that success was a battle most fans never saw. During an appearance on This Past Weekend with Theo Von, Ella revealed that her label, Columbia Records, wasn’t confident in the song’s style and didn’t think it would perform well.
Instead of backing down, she trusted her instincts. She believed in the sound, the feel, and what made the song different—and refused to change it just to fit expectations.
Looking back now, that decision says everything. Because sometimes the biggest risks—the ones no one else believes in—end up becoming the moments that define your entire career.
