Country music star Ella Langley has officially added a new furry companion to her family. The singer recently adopted a rescue puppy named Joan from Big Dog Ranch Rescue in Loxahatchee, Florida, following an emotional visit to the shelter.
The adoption came just before Langley took the stage as a headliner at the 5 O’Clock Somewhere Fest in West Palm Beach. While in Florida, she visited Big Dog Ranch Rescue to spend time with more than 130 beagles that had been rescued from a Wisconsin biomedical research laboratory. Many of the dogs were recovering from lives spent in medical testing facilities and were receiving rehabilitation and care at the rescue center.

What began as a simple visit quickly became something much more meaningful. While interacting with the rescued dogs, Langley formed an instant connection with a puppy named Joan. The bond was immediate, and by the end of the visit, Langley had decided to give the pup a forever home.
The “Choosin’ Texas” hitmaker later shared moments from her visit on social media, showing herself playing with the rescued dogs, learning about their rehabilitation journeys, and introducing fans to Joan. The touching video captured the moment Langley realized the puppy would be coming home with her.
Joan joins Langley’s two other beloved dogs, Crue, a Boykin Spaniel, and Bee, a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. The newest addition makes Langley a proud dog mom of three.
The adoption also creates another connection between Langley and her mentor, Miranda Lambert. Big Dog Ranch Rescue is the same organization where Lambert adopted her dog Bellamy in 2013, adding another chapter to the friendship and professional relationship shared by the two country artists.
Langley’s commitment to animal welfare extends well beyond her personal pets. She serves as a founding board member and Director of Fundraising for Pawsitive Rescue Division, a nonprofit rescue organization dedicated to canine rehabilitation, training, and finding loving homes for rescued dogs. The organization works closely with shelters and foster families to ensure every dog has the best chance at a successful adoption.
Through her work with Pawsitive Rescue Division and partnerships with organizations such as Big Dog Ranch Rescue, Langley continues to advocate for rescue animals and encourage pet adoption. Her decision to adopt Joan is another example of that commitment in action.
Since its founding in 2008, Big Dog Ranch Rescue has helped save and rehabilitate more than 84,000 dogs, giving countless animals a second chance at life. For Joan, that second chance came in the form of a loving home with one of country music’s fastest-rising stars. 🐾❤️
